Style and presentation for Midterm Reports

Due Friday, April 12
Must be submitted to the blog by 10pm

A) Front matter:

  • Title of your report
  • Your name
  • The date of your report
  • Abstract or executive summary
  • Table of contents for your report

B) Report body:

  • Use headings and subheadings to divide report

++++ Subheading
++* heading that appears bolded, but not in the table of contents
  • Final section should be Works Cited in APA format (see below)
  • Tip: Skip a line between each section
  • **Tip: Leave a space after the plus sign or asterisk or it won't make the heading/bullet

C) Back matter:

  • provide appendices with any relevant material to accompany your report
    • full interview transcripts or lists of interview questions
    • surveys distributed
    • copies of relevant textual documents for the reader's reference

Citation format for Works Cited

  • Obviously, you should provide citations for the published scholars you reference in your report (Swales, Mirabelli, etc.)
  • You should also cite any materials you use as data, including
    • websites
    • forum or blog posts from other sites
    • private correspondence
    • newsletters or other periodicals used as data
